National Parks Lifetime Pass

Every veteran — not just disabled or retired — is eligible for the free Military Lifetime Pass to federal recreation sites.

  • 2Separated under honorable conditions (honorable or general discharge)
  • 3No disability rating or retirement status required

Program Overview

The Military Lifetime Pass grants free entrance to more than 2,000 federal recreation sites managed by the National Park Service, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, and Army Corps of Engineers. Any veteran who served in the U.S. Armed Forces and was separated under honorable conditions qualifies — there is no disability or retirement requirement.

How to Apply
  1. 1Apply online at the USGS store and pay a small processing fee for the physical pass
  2. 2Or visit a federal recreation site that sells passes and show proof of service (DD214, VA ID, or veteran designation on a driver's license)
  3. 3The pass covers the pass owner and passengers in a personal vehicle, or up to four adults at per-person sites
